The table below lists the number of pledged Republican delegates who will have been allocated as of each primary or caucus date. On March 1, 2016, 14 states and jurisdictions will conduct Republican primaries or caucuses. On this date, 655 pledged Republican delegates will be allocated, more than on any other single day in the 2016 primary season. In order to win the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, a candidate must win 1,237 delegates at the national convention. The table below lists the number of pledged Democratic delegates who will have been allocated as of each primary or caucus date. On March 1, 2016, 12 states and jurisdictions will conduct Democratic primaries or caucuses. On this date, 865 pledged Democratic delegates will be allocated, more than on any other single day in the 2016 primary season. In order to win the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, a candidate must win 2,383 delegates at the national convention.
